About the Group

The group's field of work and goals.

The Molecular Disease Modeling Research Group investigates cellular and molecular processes associated with disease using in vitro models and genetic analyses. Our research focuses on breast cancer biology, the biological effects of natural compounds, and molecular mechanisms that influence treatment response. By combining cell culture experiments with gene expression analyses and bioinformatics, we examine how polyphenols, propolis, and other bioactive substances affect cell proliferation, migration, oxidative stress, the cell cycle, and DNA repair.

Our work also encompasses genetic variation associated with disease susceptibility, dietary bioactive compounds, and the cellular compatibility of biomaterials. We aim to advance the understanding of disease mechanisms and experimentally evaluate potential molecular targets and biological effects for further investigation.
